I’m supposed to write one of these posts to introduce myself, but that’s not really my thing. I’m not here to talk about what I ate for lunch or what sorts of activities I’m up to in my day-to-day. Truthfully this started as an outlet for all the various things that I’ve written about over the last few years, my various curiosities and research projects. I know my family and friends are either sick of hearing me talk about this stuff, or are unaware of the sorts of things that preoccupy my waking life (and, sometimes, my dream life).
If nothing else, here’s a list of potential names for this site I was considering before settling on Continuous Variations:
- Projecting a World
- Territorial Refrains
- It’s All Noise
- Repudiating the Past
- Striated Systems
- Fuzzy Aggregates
- The Schizodynamics of Ambivalent Tonal Attitudes
Many of them come pretty much directly from Deleuze and Guattari’s A Thousand Plateaus.
